Parenting & Educating
was never meant to be done alone

choosing to educate

Feeling overwhelmed with parenthood?
(Remember the Coldplay song?)
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

Parenthood is an intense journey through emotions and it can sometimes feel similar to “driving a ferrari with bicycle brakes”.

Nowadays information comes in many different ways: doctors, family, friends, school, books, websites, blogs and many more. They all have something to offer.

Since there is no single way to educate, my work is done from a non-judgmental listening perspective and my goal is to empower families to educate with confidence and love.

By my side, you will learn how to set appropriate long-lasting patterns that will lay the perfect beginning of your children’s life path.

So, if you too believe that only courageous people dare change,
you have found the correct place to continue this journey!

Choosing to Educate will help you build confidence in parenting through decisions made in meaningful moments of your children’s life. And by making and keeping in time those right decisions you will be setting the beginning of a loving, confident and happy family.

Let’s start this journey together
by Becoming & Believing
that YOU are the best parent for your children!

My story

Choosing to Educate is powered by Carmen de Casas

I am a Primary School Teacher and Educational Psychologist with a second Master’s Degree focused on Educational Treatment of Diversity. I am also an Educational Coach. But above all, I am a mother of four kids.

I have international professional experience as a teacher in schools in Spain, France, Turkey and Indonesia. I have also experience in Educational Psychology and Guidance Departments giving support to kids with special educational needs and their families.

This blend of professional expertise and personal experience is the foundation of everything I do at Choosing to Educate.

My approach brings together academic knowledge and the everyday reality of parenting, allowing me to support other families with empathy, understanding, and respect.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions, but in personalized paths that strengthen the bond with our children and help us educate with confidence and love.

Educating with Head and Heart. My Wish for This Space

Welcome to this space—a place where education, psychopedagogy, and motherhood meets with the experience and perspective of someone who has lived it both in the school classrooms, through emotional and cognitive support given to families and children, and within her own family.

When family and school walk hand in hand, magic happens!

As parents, choosing the right school for our children is a moment filled with fear, uncertainty, and often a few sleepless nights. After all, we all want what’s best for our children. But I invite you to reflect: is what they’re selling me as “the best” really what my child needs?

Closing a Chapter: How to support the end of the school year and start the Summer calmly

June arrives, and with it, the end of the school year—eagerly awaited by some and dreaded by others. For adults, it can sometimes mean exhaustion, reports, and the all-too-familiar phrase: “Now what do I do with the kids?” For children, the end of the school year is also a special time, filled with many emotions, but often accompanied by uncertainties they don’t always know how to express in words.

Should Children Do Homework During the Summer?

With the arrival of summer, many families face the same dilemma: Should my children do homework during the summer?
Opinions are clearly divided.
Some argue that it’s important to maintain school work habits and prevent the “forgetting” of what was learned, while others prefer to completely break from routine and prioritize rest and a break from academics.
